Integrated Accessibility Standards Policy
Dovercourt Boys and Girls Club (“Dovercourt”) is committed to meeting the requirements of the Integrated Accessibility Standards regulation and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005to ensure that all programming and opportunities of the BGC is accessible to all members, community, staff, board members and members of the public. Dovercourt is committed to treating all people in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. Dovercourt believes in integration and equal opportunity. Dovercourt is committed to meeting the needs of persons with disabilities in a timely manner, and will do so by identifying, removing and preventing barriers to accessibility and meeting accessibility standards in accordance with the AODA.
AODA Customer Service Standards Policy
This Policy applies to all Dovercourt employees, contractor’s and agents, whether such employees, contractors or agents are engaged on a full-time, part-time, temporary, or casual basis, and regardless of whether or not they are members of the bargaining unit.
AODA Employment Standards Policy
Dovercourt is implementing the Employment Standards Policy (the “Policy”) to ensure that all applications and Dovercourt’s current Ontario employees are aware of their right under the AODA Employment Standards, and to set out Dovercourt’s policies with respect to individual accommodation of all applications and employees.
Multiyear Plan 2023 – 2025
The AODA seeks to provide a fully accessible Ontario by 2025. Consistent with this objective, there are many obligations placed on organizations, including Dovercourt, to ensure their workplaces and services are fully accessible to the public and employees, including persons with disabilities.
Under the AODA, and specifically the IASR, Dovercourt is required to develop a multi-year accessibility plan outlining its strategy to remove barriers to accessibility, and to meet requirements under the IASR.
This Multi-Year Accessibility Plan will assist Dovercourt in coordinating efforts to meet the needs of persons with disabilities. Dovercourt is committed to the principles of independence, dignity, integration and equality of opportunity as described in the AODA.
Our Multi-Year Accessibility Plan outlines Dovercourt’s strategy to remove barriers and addresses the current and future requirements applicable to Dovercourt under the IASR. The Multi-Year Accessibility Plan will be posted on our external Internet website.
