In the memory of John Sarchese and to celebrate his life, BGC Dovercourt Club is organizing a donation fund to buy a deserving boy and girl a pair of skates to celebrate John’s love of life and hockey.
Integral community member, John passed away in December 2018 and was passionate about The Toronto Maple Leafs & Old Timers Recreation Hockey. He played in a community league and was not able to use a new pair of skates gifted to him by his sister for Christmas. To continue his legacy and in lieu of flowers; your support will allow members of the next generation to be inspired to play hockey.
This year, courtesy of this fund; Dovercourt Clubhouse hosted the Skater John Contest!
In order to participate, members must be between the ages 7 to 12 years old. Two winners will be chosen. Members must submit a letter (400 words maximum) answering the following questions:
- Name, Age, School, skate size
- Why they would like a pair of skates
- Who their favourite Canadian Skater is and why
